Seminar to Address Medical Meaningful Use Stimulus Facts

7/19/2010

Industry expert to speak on the Electronic Health Records requirements imposed on physicians for the Economic Stimulus Package announced Tuesday by Health and Human Service.

July 16, 2010 – Hutchinson, KS – Health and Human Services released the final version of the 800 page “Meaningful Use” Electronic Health Records’ requirements on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Physicians and medical practices of all sizes have been waiting for the release of the document in order to understand how they qualify for up to $44,000 in reimbursements for switching from paper patient records to digital medical records.

Rumors and speculation have been rampant throughout the medical industry ever since Health and Human Services (HHS) released the first draft of the ‘Meaningful Use’ requirements at the end of 2009.

PDS Cortex, a health care technology company and award winning reseller of McKesson Practice Partner Electronic Health Records, is sponsoring a seminar entitled “Straight-Talk on the Stimulus.”  The free seminar will take place the evening of July 29th in Austin, Texas and will focus on the facts surrounding the newly released requirements for Electronic Health Records (EHR) and inform physicians and medical practices on the qualifications needed to receive funds and avoid penalties from the government.

Tammy Eden, Vice-President at McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK), the largest health care company, will speak on the current status of “Meaningful Use” in which physicians must meet specific criteria in order to receive funds of up to $44,000 from the Stimulus Plan set into law in early 2009.

The event will shed light on the finalized requirements from Health and Human Services (HHS). Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions on the transition to Electronic Health Records, which practices must complete by 2015 in order to avoid penalties.

The seminar will include a social hour with the speaker followed by a free dinner and presentation.

Practices can attend the free seminar by registering at http://www.pdsmed.com/Austin. Space is limited.
